Festive events
dedicated to the National Unity Day will begin in Kazan on November 1.
Concerts, master classes and exhibitions have been prepared for the residents
of the city. In addition, Kazan residents can apply to participate in an Ethnographic
Dictation at 12 locations. The events will be held in cultural centers,
libraries and museums of the city until November 12. Guzel Sagitova, the deputy
head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, announced it at the staff meeting.
“We have always paid due attention to the
issues of interfaith and interethnic harmony, which are very delicate and
sensitive for our society. In the mentality of our residents, such traditions as
respect for each other, regardless of nation and religion have been established
for centuries. We have become good friends in this multinational world,”- said
Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, commenting on the extensive program of events
dedicated to the National Unity Day.
He expressed
confidence that the Year of National Cultures and Traditions announced by
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is of great importance and said that
Kazan should be at the forefront of a work on the organization of activities.
“Kazan as the
capital of the republic should set the tone. We have everything for this: a
multinational culture, talented children and activists of national
associations. It should be not only songs, but also a lot of work to preserve
national cultures and traditions,”- the Mayor said. He instructed the heads of
departments of the Executive Committee of the city and the heads of district
administrations to prepare proposals for activities in 2023.
The National
Unity Day celebrations will begin on November 1. On this day, a concert “Musical
traditions of multinational Tatarstan” will take place in the city library
No.13. Performances of a folklore ensemble, a quiz on knowledge of the
traditions of the peoples of the republic and a tour of the library will be
prepared for visitors.
In the park at
the Said-Galiev cultural center, a tree planting event will take place on the
same day. Leaders and activists of national communities from the Assembly of
the Peoples of Tatarstan will join the event.
“From November
2, concert programs will be held in cultural centers. Residents can apply to
participate in master classes, visit art and book exhibitions, as well as
lectures on the history of the holiday,”- G.Sagitova said.
On November 3,
an expanded meeting of the Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan
will be held at the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan, where a
photo exhibition dedicated to the 30-year activity of the assembly will open.
On November 4,
festive events will be held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center.
The winners of the “Our Home is Tatarstan” Republican Cultural Festival and the
winners of the “National Holidays of the Peoples of Russia” photo contest will
be awarded here.
The museums of
the Kazan Kremlin will offer special program: On November 4, the Museum of
Tatarstan Statehood will open an exhibition of records, photos and videos
related to the history of the adoption of the constitution and sovereignty of
Tatarstan. The exposition is dedicated to the Constitution Day of the republic
of Tatarstan, which is celebrated on November 6.
From 3 to 8
November, Kazan residents can participate in an Ethnographic Dictation and to test
their knowledge online on the website miretno.ru and offline at 12 sites.
For reference, representatives
of more than 115 nationalities live in Kazan, 39 national and cultural
associations work here.
