The renovation of the Library № 27 has been completed on Barudi Street in Kazan. This is the third library in the city, modernized under the new standard. The results of the work were inspected today by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova and the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin.
The library was built in 1989. Next to it, there is a Children's Music School № 2, which also underwent renovation.
Rezeda Ismagilova, Director of the Centralized Library System of Kazan, conducted a tour of the renovated institution. She said that the famous theologian and educator Galimjan Barudi donated his personal library to the city. The library, located on the street bearing his name, has a family concept. It has children's and adult departments, and even a baby changing room.
“We want to revive the tradition of family reading. It is very important that every resident knows that there are such literary points nearby. There were a lot of readers here before, but they are very happy that the library was renovated, while not losing its main function,”- R. Ismagilova noted.
Rustam Minnikhanov talked with the library visitors during the tour. “It is great that you find interest for yourself here, it is very important. A good place!” – said Rais of Tatarstan.
The library was divided into several zones for the comfort of visitors. At the entrance, visitors can leave their belongings in special lockers and use the self-service station. You can take, return or extend a book in a matter of seconds by scanning reader's ticket at the terminal. The employees of the institution help visitors if they need a consultation.
In addition to the reading room, there is a cafe and a conference room for various events. It is planned to hold various lectures, master classes, public talks and reviews of new books for popularization of books and reading. The events will be held with the participation of specialists and experts.
Wi-Fi zones for visitors have also become an innovation. Here they will be able to use library computers or personal laptop. And the multimedia library has a large collection of vinyl records.
“The Fund is regularly updated with children's and educational literature. We notice that the attendance of libraries which have undergone modernization is almost doubling. Readers' interest in the library and reading is increasing,”- Ismagilova noted.
As one of the visitors of the library Gulsina Faizova shared, her family was looking forward to the opening of the institution. “We came in this morning, I really like it, like in a fairy-tale world! The children’s area has changed a lot, it has become very bright, there are many, many books. My children are schoolchildren. My daughter graduated from the first grade, we were asked to read a lot for the summer, she came here immediately with a list, we will come here in the summer,”- she said.
