(KZN.RU, August 28) Construction of a free hotel for parents whose children receive long-term treatment started in Kazan. The project to be built on the territory of Children’s Republican Hospital was launched by Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov and McDonald's CEO in Russia and Eastern Europe Khamzat Khasbulatov. The event was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The project is implemented by the Ronald McDonald House charity fund. The main goal of the project is the creation of favorable conditions for the parents’ stay at the hotel.
Ronald McDonald House will be located on a plot of 2,000 square meters. It will include 24 bedrooms, a living room, a kids’ playroom, a game room for teens (computer room), a kitchen, a dining room, a laundry room, bathrooms, office space as well as the reception area. The entire first floor of the hotel (including 5 bedrooms) will be equipped for the care of children with disabilities. The project also provides for a playground. Ronald McDonald House will be able to accommodate more than 600 families annually. Its completion is scheduled for July 6, 2013.
The construction of the hotel and its maintenance will be funded by the Ronald McDonald House charity.
Tatarstan’s president noted that while there are 315 such hotels in 31 countries, the one in Kazan will be Russia’s first.
