Ilsur Metshin visits exhibition marking 70th anniversary of Konstantin Vasilyev’s birth
(KZN.RU, September 3, by Alisa Rozanova) An exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the famous artist Konstantin Vasilyev’s birth opened at the “Kazan” National Cultural Center. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin attended the exhibition, along the artist's sister, who had come from Moscow for the anniversary celebration.
The exhibition features 27 works from the collection of the Konstantin Vasilyev Moscow Museum, including some of his most famous paintings: "Waiting", Fyodor Dostoevsky’s portrait, "Forest Gothic" and the “Epic Rus” series. In addition, his early graphics from the Kazan Vasiliev Gallery are exhibited.
The commemorative events will be followed by a conference dedicated to the artist’s work.
