The improvement of the second stage of the square at the Kazan-2 railway station is being completed. The Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, inspected the progress of improvement of the square today during a tour of the Moskovsky city district.
Before laying paving slabs on an area of 3,000 square meters, pedestrian routes were analyzed, head of the Department for the Development of Public Spaces at the Kazan Development Institute Ruzal Farkhullin reported to the Mayor. For the first time in the square, an unusual navigation is used: 24 pointers leading to the train station, metro or bus stop are mounted directly into the tile.
“Last year, we opened the monument “Kazan – the City of Labor Valor”, after that impressive changes were introduced in the park. For us, this is the entrance gate to Kazan from the railway side, but also a good place for residents of adjacent houses to relax. We did the right thing by designing sidewalks where people used to walk. Lighting will appear here for the first time, and video surveillance will provide the safety,”- the mayor said.
Previously, only the main alley was illuminated in the public space, now 81 lightning supports have been installed. In the near future, 30 vandal-proof benches and 15 urns will be installed. A parking lot with 20 sections is equipped for cyclists.
Work has been carried out on the installation of automatic irrigation, 5,700 cubic meters of pipes have been laid. Landscaping of the territory will be carried out in autumn: it is planned to plant coniferous shrubs and trees with a thick wide crown – cedar, mountain pine, linden and yew, as well as flowering trees and bright shrubs.
“I instructed my colleagues to prepare a plan for planting large-sized trees by autumn. Due to irrigation, there will always be grass, and proper planting of trees in autumn will create a beautiful park,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
The work was carried out under of the federal program “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”, which is included in the national project “Housing and Urban Environment”. Improvement is carried out in three stages, two of which have already been completed.
