This year, a new school for 1,224 students will be
built in Kazan under the national project «Youth and Children». The school will
be located in the «Leto» residential complex in the Sovetsky city district. The
construction has already begun. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin announced this
at the meeting in the city's executive committee.
«We are building the third school in this new residential area, where about
30,000 people will reside. We are attempting to develop the city districts in a
balanced manner. All of them should be comfortable, green, and secure. This is
a goal we are consistently working towards. There should be opportunities for
work, leisure, and education everywhere. Fortunately, national projects provide
us with this opportunity», – said Ilsur Metshin.
The four-story building will
house two gyms and swimming pools as well as an assembly hall and a canteen
with 612 seats.
For reference, three schools for almost 4,000 students
were opened in Kazan under the national project «Education». On the basis of schools
№64 and №174, children's technoparks «Kvantorium» were created. Seven schools
in the city have been equipped with computers, software and presentation
equipment.
In just 11 years, 29 schools have been built in Kazan.
With the exception of Moscow and St. Petersburg, this is a record among cities
with millions of residents.
