Universiade medal models presented in Moscow
(KZN.RU, December 11) All regions of Russia will be represented at the World Summer Universiade in Kazan. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov at a meeting of the Universiade organizing committee in Moscow.
The meeting held at the RF Government House was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko stated that preparations for the Universiade had entered the final stage and set deadlines. Thus, by May 15, 2013, all sports facilities should be ready for use. The Universiade Village is due to open June 29. On June 29-30, the Russian national team should move in. The sporting events will kick off July 5, and the grand opening of the Games is scheduled for July 6. On July 17, the Games will wrap up, the closing ceremony will be held and the Universiade flag will be transferred.
