Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the implementation of the Kazan – a City on Water concept. During the detour, the Mayor looked round the new coastal infrastructure at the Kazan Family Center, the pontoons on the Kremlin Embankment, and inspected the progress of the renovation of the Lokomotiv peninsula, where the yachting and sports infrastructure is being updated.
The development of the coastline is one of the priorities of a program to create modern water infrastructure in Kazan.
“Our great advantage and one of the main attractions is that Kazan is located on water. Unfortunately, there are not many places on water comfortable for residents. I am pleased that our agreements with the investor have quickly transitioned into implementation, and we are already seeing the first significant results. We will continue to support this project. What we are seeing now is a very decent start, and it gives us confidence that we will be able to provide a completely different level of comfort for the residents and tourists this year. Good luck!”- said Ilsur Metshin.
The first location of the detour was the site near the Kazan Family Center, where a 90-meter pontoon has been operating since May 1, designed for 25 vessels. Three pontoon structures are planned to be installed near the Leninskaya Dam.
The next location was the Lokomotiv peninsula, where the Prisma Yacht Club is currently undergoing renovation. Part of the work on the site has already been completed. Approximately 500 meters of floating pontoon structures were installed for 350 boats. Lighting, security, and pedestrian areas along the water were also installed. The Aviator sports school is being renovated next to the yacht club.
