This summer, 22,493 children aged 7 to 17 will be able to spend their summer holidays at the city school camps. The summer health campaign will last until June 26 and will cover 160 schools. Irek Rizvanov, Head of the Education Department, announced this during a staff meeting.
“Today is the International Children's Day. For us, for all parents, this is always a special holiday. Some children or grandchildren have already finished the school year, while others are just finishing, and some are taking exams. We wish good luck to these children. We are planning a grand graduation party for them, - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. - We are particularly concerned about children whose parents are currently fighting in the special military operation zone, families with special needs children, and families in a difficult life situation. We have implemented various support measures for these categories, and we are constantly expanding them. For example, these children will have free access to summer camps.”
A diverse program has been prepared for schoolchildren. Students will be able to participate in different quests, excursions, creative workshops, as well as events dedicated to the culture, history, and folk crafts of Tatarstan. The camps will have on-duty groups from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The safety of children is one of the main priorities of the summer campaign. On the eve of the holidays, all schools in the city held classes on safety and preventive briefings. Employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and other relevant services were involved in this work.
The cost of a 21-day stay at a school camp for parents is 920 rubles. The majority of expenses is covered by the republican budget. Children of participants in the special military operation have free access to school camps.
