(KZN.RU, March 12, by Renat Shirmanov) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin met with Charge d'Affaires of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Russia, Dennis Keefe. The meeting was held at Kazan City Hall.
Dennis Keefe said that it was his second visit to Kazan. "We are also scheduled to meet with representatives of the Executive Office of the 2013 Universiade. We are very interested in how preparation for the Games is proceeding," said Dennis Keefe.
"Great Britain is one of the world's leading countries, and London is a unique city with its own aura. During the bidding for the right to host the Universiade, we participated in several FISU conferences held in London. They were successful for us; therefore, we have only happy memories of our stay there," said the mayor of Kazan.
Also, the mayor noted the invaluable experience gained by the members of the 2013 Universiade organizing committee, who were present at various events in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games.
