(KZN.RU, April 5, by Renat Shirmanov) Kazan city services will do everything in their power to ensure that every detail of the 2013 sports festival is up to the standards of International Student Games. This was announced by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin, who took part in the Meeting of Heads of Delegations of the countries participating in the Games.
Ilsur Metshin reminded that Kazan is considered one of the most sports loving cities in Russia. "We are honored to host the major sporting student forum," said Ilsur Metshin.
“We're paying great attention to the cultural program of the Games and leisure activities. International festivals featuring various arts will be held. A Universiade Park will be laid out at the Kremlin walls. A colorful show of the world famous circus "Cirque du Soleil" will be presented to all the participants and guests of the Universiade,” said Ilsur Metshin.
According to the mayor of Kazan, special attention is paid to the opening ceremony of the Universiade. "During the opening ceremony, we will show the wealth of cultural traditions of the peoples of Russia and demonstrate its uniqueness and multinational character. The lighting of the Universiade flame will be the highlight of the ceremony," said the mayor.
"We will do everything possible to make sure that each detail of the festival meets the high standards of the Universiade. All residents of Kazan are looking forward to this joyous event and are ready to show Tatarstan hospitality to the guests and participants of the 27th World Summer Universiade," concluded Ilsur Metshin.
