(KZN.RU, April 12, by Renat Shirmanov) Quality catering is one of the cornerstones of successful preparation for the Universiade, which will be held in Kazan in the summer. The organizers set strict standards for the menu, personnel clothes, equipment and services. Only the best caterers will be employed. This was announced by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin who held a caterers’ onsite meeting.
"Sports facilities are pretty much the same everywhere; the Universiade participants’ impression of our city will be largely based on how well we ensure their safety, provide comfortable accommodation and decent meals," said Ilsur Metshin.
Quality and safe food will be provided for some 122 thousand participants, spectators and guests of the Universiade. The athletes will be fed at their places of residence. According to the FISU requirements, their daily rations should contain about 5 kg of food having at least 5,000 calories. Five different cuisines will be available.
"We will have to prepare three million high-quality and tasty meals. It will be really a feast of feasts. We are already testing ways of preparing large numbers of dishes of identical quality so that during the Universiade everything works with clockwork precision," summed up Ilsur Metshin.
