(KZN.RU, June 28, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) Kazan has entered the home stretch on the eve of the 2013 Universiade. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin spoke about the readiness of the capital of Tatarstan for the 27th World Student Games during the “Topic” show on the “Efir” TV channel.
The head of the city noted that today, nine days before the Universiade, a lot of work in different areas has been done. "Although we have not started yet, we are certainly finishing," said I. Metshin.
"We all have been living through this period, we have put our heart and soul into it, our love, energy, and tremendous effort,” said the mayor addressing Kazan residents. “I am grateful to you for your patience and for the great work you have done and want you to enjoy the results."
"Do come and enjoy the cultural program and the sports events, so that the flame of the Universiade lights up every heart; may every one of you be proud that you are contemporaries of this historic event and take pride in our Kazan," continued Ilsur Metshin. "I am sincerely grateful to you. I wish you a beautiful and memorable Universiade, which will glorify our Kazan, Tatarstan and our new Russia," said the head of the city.
