(KZN.RU, July 12, by Renat Shirmanov) The interest for the 2013 Universiade shown by residents and guests of Kazan, as well as by the press, has exceeded all expectations of the organizers. This was stated today by Ilsur Metshin, who visited a competition in women’s synchronized 10-meter springboard diving.
The mayor not only watched the competition with interest, but also took part in awarding the prize-winners.

"We are following all competitions not only as spectators but also as organizers. Each time we come to an event, we inspect all services and make certain observations. In general, we are on alert 24 hours a day," said Ilsur Metshin answering reporters’ questions.
"We are impressed by the Universiade and delighted to see the crowded auditoria. Our expectations regarding the interest of Kazan residents, visitors and the media have been surpassed," the mayor of the capital of Tatarstan shared his impressions with those present.
