Kazan to share summer Universiade experience with Gwangju
(KZN.RU, July 16, by Taisiya Basharkina) An Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between Kazan and the South Korean city of Gwangju was signed at City Hall. The document was signed by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Mayor of Gwangju Kang Un-tae .
Gwangju will host the 28th World Summer Universiade of 2015. It is to this city that Kazan – the host of the current Summer Games – will transfer the Universiade Flag. It is worth recalling that Gwangju previously bid for the right to host the 2013 Summer Universiade but lost to Kazan.
The cooperation agreement involves an exchange of experiences between the two cities. According to Ilsur Metshin, Kazan has a lot to learn from such a developed South Korean city as Kwangju, and the capital of Tatarstan, in turn, can share its experience of the 2013 Universiade.
