(KZN.RU, August 29, by Alisa Rozanova) Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin greeted citizens on the upcoming Day of the City and of the Republic in a live "Topic" broadcast on the Efir TV channel.
The mayor stressed the importance of participation of the builders, architects and citizens in the conduct of the main event of the year – the World University Summer Games – and thanked Kazan residents for their patience during the preparation for the Universiade.
"During the past five years, the city was a huge construction site, blocking the traffic and causing a lot of inconvenience. Today we can see the results of our great teamwork. We spent a hot summer in all senses of the word: we held the Universiade and made ourselves known to the whole world," said the Mayor.
" The townspeople will receive a welcome gift for August 30 – a new children's clinic in Azino - 1. This excellent children's health center – I don't want to call it a clinic – will open its doors tomorrow," said Ilsur Metshin. The clinic will serve some 70 thousand children.
