70% of winners of Tatarstan's Olympiads are Kazan students
(KZN.RU, March 17, by Taisiya Basharkina). Kazan high school students have shown excellent results at the regional stage of All-Russian academic Olympiads. In the overall standings, the Kazan students won 275 prizes, which is 10 % more than last year. This was reported at today's City Hall staff meeting, by deputy head of the Department of Education Valentina Afonskaya.
Six hundred - thirteen 9th – 11th grade students represented the Tatarstan capital at the regional stage. Of the 59 winners and 505 runners up of Tatarstan, 41 winner (70% of the total) and 234 runner up (46%) attend Kazan schools. It is worth noting that this year, there were almost almost 40 % winners more than in the past.
As Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin pointed out, 70%Kazan winners is a good result. "These kids is our bridge to the future. We will closely monitor the progress of our students at a national stage of academic Olympiads," said the Mayor and expressed gratitude to the parents and teachers who prepared the students.
The All-Russian Olympiad will be held in 21 academic subjects.
