(KZN.RU, April 6, by Taisiya Basharkina) Souvenir transit cards with images of historical attractions of the capital of Tatarstan will go on sale by the beginning of the tourist season in Kazan. Currently, seven card options with panoramic views of the Kazan Kremlin, Sviyazhsk, Bulgar, as well as images of the Syuyumbike Tower and St. Paul Cathedral have been prepared. These cards will become available in late April, said Ramil Yakupov, Director of the OAO "Transit Card", at a City Hall operational meeting.
The souvenir transit cards are aimed at promoting landmarks of the city and of the republic. According to R.Yakupov, the cards will be good for two to five trips and will be sold in an envelope along with a map of the historical center, the subway and other public transportation. The face of a card will feature a picture of a landmark, while the flip side will contain information about the attraction and its QR-code.
Mayor Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin praised the creative approach to issuing cards featuring historical monuments and suggested that people be asked about which particular sights should adorn them.
" A competition to choose 10 – 15 favorite Kazan spots will help promote the cards. A card with an extra zing should be attractive not only to locals, but also to visitors to the capital of Tatarstan as a souvenir," said I. Metshin confidently.
