"Voskresenie" rock musician greets Kazan's school of rock "The Road" on its...

(Kazan, KZN.RU, February 24, by Zilya Gayfi). Kazan's school of rock «The Road», opened with the mayor's support, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Andrey Sapunov, a musician of the "Voskresenie" rock group, arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to greet the students and teachers on the anniversary. A concert featuring the legendary Russian rock star was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

Recall that Kazan became the first city in Russia to establish a school of rock. It is located in  Children's Music School No.5, which recently celebrated its 160th anniversary. About 100 children are trained in the school of rock today. Many other cities across the country followed the capital of Tatarstan in its footsteps, launching similar projects to educate talented children and adolescents. The school creation was supported by Boris Grebenshikov, Vadim Samoilov, Andrey Sapunov, as well as by rock schools in the USA and Italy.

Before the concert, Ilsur Metshin inspected the classrooms and rehearsal rooms, where he talked with the young musicians. Director Ayrat Yarullin presented the pride of the school – a group entitled «Ca Va Bien.» "The group has existed since the very foundation of the school. The musicians have traveled almost the whole of Russia, taking top places and performing with Andrei Makarevich, Andrei Sapunov and other well-known musicians," said the director.

After the school inspection, Andrei Sapunov invited Ilsur Metshin to his solo concert, "I Know..."
