In Kazan in 2009 crime has decreased
In total for the last year in the capital of republic were registered 29 thousand 520 crimes, which is 17 percent less than were reported in 2008.
As noted in his report on the traditional "Business Monday" in the Mayor's Office chief of internal affairs for the city of Kazan police colonel Aleksei Selivanovsky, in 2009 the number of many types of crimes tended to reduce. Thus, for grave and especially grave crimes decline is almost 20%. More than 20% less were registered instances of grievous bodily harm, the number of robberies has declined by almost 12%.
Simultaneously with the reduction in quantitative terms, detection of serious crimes against the person improved.
Thanks to the dedicated work of the Kazan police for the past 4 years the number of recorded robberies in the city have reduced. In 2009 25% less were prosecuted criminal on the facts of open plunder of another's property.
Over the past year more than 14% decreased the number of reported robberies, every fourth of which is disclosed.
Thanks to active preventive work and training of the population to measures on protection of own habitation, the number of apartment thefts was considerably reduced to 147 crimes or 16,6%.
