I. Metshin: "With the new rock school Kazan must become the capital of rock”

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin congratulated young rockers with the move into a new house on st. Moskovskaya, 57a, where everything is created for comfort of novice musicians. In honor of the opening of the school head of the city sang for the children together with the musicians of "Voskreseniye".

Students, their parents and teachers gathered at the opening of a new school of rock «The Road». Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted that now when all the conditions for beginning rockers are created, it is time to conquer new musical Olympus. "It is necessary that Kazan has become not only a sport and educational capital, but the capital of rock. For this purpose, the guys should play so skillfully that no one had any doubt that Kazan is the rock capital! Be bold, young people! At one time there were a lot of great rock musicians; Kazan occupied a special place on the map of rock. We hope that in these conditions you will say your musical word very quickly! "- the Mayor addressed the students of the school.

The head of the city along with the director of the school «The Road» Ayrat Yarullin examined renovated classes for guitar, bass, drums. The Mayor also spoke with the future rock stars and wondered what works of contemporary musicians they like. Together with Ilsur Metshin musicians of the group "Voskreseniye", who came to congratulate Kazan with the opening of the first Russian rock school, appreciated a new building.

After touring the premises I. Metshin together with the musicians, the school principal and one of the students cut the symbolic ribbon for opening of the stage for performances. First on the new stage graduate of «The Road» Marousia Sharonova, who came with her father - a famous football player Roman Sharonov, performed.

Then the Mayor of Kazan came on the stage. Ilsur Metshin together with the leader of “Voskreseniye” Andrei Sapunov sang a song "Falling Leaves" for the children. After this little improvisation the Mayor congratulated the children with the opening of the school and thanked the group “Voskreseniye " for coming, and builders who worked on creating the perfect home for young musicians.

"Our future rockers, I want you to learn and listen, to play, and sing, and make friends in these walls! As they say, the song helps us to build and to live. Let the songs of the great musicians will help you to become worthy people. Rejoice us with your art, invite us to come again! The next concert is after you!"- said the Mayor of Kazan.

Recall that in honor of the fifth anniversary, which the rock school celebrates this year, the establishment of a municipality allocated its own premises in the city center - a two-storey building at st. Moskovskaya, 57a. Particular attention is paid there to the soundproof. In each class soundproof panels are installed on the walls, floor and ceiling, and also special doors and windows are made. All this is necessary to ensure that the young rockers can sing and play musical instruments in a comfortable environment without interfering with each other. The new building is the only platform in Russia, which was originally designed to accommodate a rock school. 60-70 children from 7 years can be taught in the Rock School. At least 10 children and teenage rock bands will be based in the building; it will be leaded by 10 teachers of different specialties.

Kazan became the first city in Russia, where a school of rock appeared. Creation of Kazan school was supported by such mastodons of Russian rock scene, as Boris Grebenshchikov, Vadim Samoilov, Andrey Sapunoff. Workshops for students were performed by musicians of "Voskreseniye", "Chizh & Co", "Liapis Trubetskoy", "Tantra".
