Ilsur Metshin took part in a meeting with Turkish partners

(Kazan City KZN.RU, November 18). President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the chairman of the industrial zone "Gebze" (Turkey) Vahit Yildirim today. The meeting was held at the House of the Government of Tatarstan, it was also attended by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of Economy of RT Artem Zdunov, head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina, plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkey Aydar Gashigullin and others.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Vahit Yildirim for organizing the visit of Tatarstan delegation in the industrial zone "Gebze" in October this year. President of RT noted that many management decisions attracted interest from the part of Tatarstan. "You have considerable experience regarding the organization of this work. We would like to use your achievements in the creation of industrial zones and draw you to this work ", - he stressed.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, there are several options for the development of cooperation in this field: the application of management experience of "Gebze" for the development of the existing special economic zones or the creation of a completely new platform.

"We have an ambitious project - multimodal logistics center in Sviazhsk. It is in the 30-40 km from Kazan. We plan replace the river port there; there is already a railway line, federal highway M-7 is near. Perhaps we should create a new industrial zone next to the complex, "- the President of Tatarstan suggested.

Vahit Yildirim thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the reception and expressed condolences over the crash of the Russian aircraft in Egypt.

Chairman of the Board of Industrial zone "Gebze" noted that the system of the development of industrial zones in Turkey works for decades. "The result of years of work was the fact that this work is put on stream, many serious issues are solved in the paper without creating delays in time", - he said.

Vahit Yildirim added that more than 7.5 thousand enterprises work today in the Turkish industrial zones, about 2 million people are involved.

"We would like to use the tried and tested model in Tatarstan. In the case of success of this project, we will make every effort to attract foreign enterprises at a new site. Mostly it will be our residents ", - the guest assured.

At the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Vahit Yildirim agreed to establish a joint working group to study the future of the project.
