New Home for Tatarstan’s Union of Journalists
(KZN.RU, April 22nd, by Taisiya Basharkina). The Union of Journalists of the Republic of Tatarstan has found a new home in the Moskovsky District of Kazan. The new premises of the Union are located at 179 Dekabristov Street. The new building with an area of 255 sq.m. was given to the Union of Journalists by the administration of Kazan as municipal preference.
The Union of Journalists intends to launch intensive activities in the new building: a busy schedule of practical training seminars for employees of regional and corporate newspapers has already been made. Work on the creation of a press club, the League of Business Journalism, has been started.
Today, the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the oldest in Russia and the largest among Tatarstan’s creative public associations. It numbers more than 1,100 members. More than 200 of them are also members of the Union of Journalists of Russia; 140 members have the international press card.
