Ilsur Metshin visited a number of buildings of Kazan Federal University

After the end of the winter session more than 500 students will be able to move into clean and spacious rooms. Mayor Ilsur Metshin praised new living conditions today. The Mayor visited the hostel №8 and the building of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance of KFU, which is under construction, visited classes and talked with students. Mayor was accompanied by the head of administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts Andrei Lobov, chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs of the Executive Committee Sergey Mironov and the rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov.

At the entrance to the hostel Ilsur Metshin met with students of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of KFU. For the period of repair students were relocated at the Universiade Village. According to the students, they look forward to returning to their hostel as geographically high school and hostel are located nearby - in the city center. Hostel №8 designed for 589 beds, but places for graduate students and university staff are reserved here. Also repairs of the next door hostel №9 started.

The Mayor visited the hostel №8: living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and toilets. Full conditions for learning and living are created in the rooms - new furniture and soft inventory were bought, the building is equipped with Wi-Fi and surveillance cameras. Accommodation fee per month is symbolic - about 200 rubles. "There were no such conditions in the days of our youth. After giving KFU federal status major changes have been at the university, including the technical base. Today dorm rooms meet the level of a good hotel. Excellent conditions for learning and living are created here, "- said the Mayor.

Hostel №8 at Pushkin street, 32a is one of the oldest in campus of KFU. In the building, built in 1983, major overhaul have been conducted - all communications were replaced, building insulation was made, re-planning and finishing of facilities were made, new windows were installed, notification system in emergency situations was updated. Thanks to overhaul hostel №8 transformed significantly.

In addition, the hostel is fully compliant with the program "Accessible Environment". In the near future the ramp equipment will be completed outside. The hostel on the first floor has a larger area of ​​the rooms with an extended entrance and handrails. Note that the infrastructure for people with disabilities had to be created virtually from scratch.

Large-scale reconstruction work is being done at the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance of KFU at st.Butlerov, 4 (the former building of Kazan State Finance and Economics Institute). According Ilshat Gafurov, in the building in addition to domestic works an assembly hall for 356 places, library room and alumni club will be equipped.

Thus, today in the campus of KFU 3 hostels for almost 1.5 thousand places are repaired, reconstruction of the building of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance is conducted, the building of the Institute of Chemical and laboratory building were built, and the reconstruction of the campus of Engineering Institute is completed. About 1 billion rubles has been spent for all this.

According Ilsur Metshin, in KFU quality of overhaul does not lag behind the quality of education. "Kazan is competing for new residents.
