I. Metshin: «WorldSkills is a springboard that can open the world for students of Kazan"

The best masters of the city will perform at the world championships of professional skills «WorldSkills Competition», which will be held in Kazan in 2019. This competition is already known for many - for example, students of the Kazan Municipal College of Economy and Construction became winners of the championship of professional skills at the regional and federal levels repeatedly. Today Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin spoke with college students; he reminded that they have a unique opportunity to prove their professionalism on the world level. He was accompanied by the head of administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts Damir Fattakhov and Chairman of the Committee of housing and communal services of the Executive Committee of Kazan Iskander Giniyatullin.

"You have time to prepare for the 4 years and to become the best at the World Cup - I. Metshin turned to the guys. - Remember, that it is not that hard - the same guys as you take part in these competitions. Professions that you get are very promising for Tatarstan as one of the most active regions of the country in construction. So we need your skills. But the World Cup «WorldSkills» is a springboard that can bring you to the crest of a wave at a completely different level, discover the world for you".

The Mayor told the students about the championship, held in Sao Paulo, where students competed in more than 70 different professions, demonstrating the unique skills, and advised not to miss the opportunity to join the masters.

And although there are still a few years for preparation for the championship, now college students can show their talents. According to the director of the institution Zhamil Bakaev, college is the national competence center for professions of carpenter and turner, and future masters of the competition are preparing here. In college a lot of winners of the Russian competition are studying, who occupied the first, second and third places. This year a college student Aisylu Ahmadullina won among research works on scientific scholarship of Mayor of Kazan for students and graduate students. By the way, only two students from colleges of the city became those winners.

"With the help of the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, as well as cooperation with the management company, we have equipped a laboratory of manual engineering networks for buildings and apartment houses - Zh.Bakaev says. - On the basis of our college we are preparing specialists for the city economy, and this is the only institution in Kazan, which is working on this industry specifically. For 3 years of lab work we have managed to service communal utilities in this specialty". Also over the past time 26 college students have become targets of various scholarships from management companies of the city.

Total in the college more than 800 students in six different specialties are studying, they are aimed at training specialists for the urban economy: construction workers, employees of housing and communal services, social workers, departments of commerce, accounting and economics.

Kazan Mayor wished the students success in sharpening their skills and encouraged to use the opportunity to participate in the World Cup «WorldSkills».
