Ilsur Metshin: "An effective system of collection, snow removal and disposal is created in Kazan"

Since the beginning of winter more than 165 tons of snow were removed from the city, including since the beginning of January - 65 thousand tons. Mayor Ilsur Metshin ordered to abide by the terms of snow removal strictly. The Mayor inspected the work of road services working this night at A.Kamaleev avenue and other surrounding streets and visited snow melting camera at Pobeda avenue.

The meeting was attended by head of the Executive Committee Denis Kalinkin, deputy head of the Executive Committee - Chairman of the external accomplishment Igor Kulyazhev, chairman of the Committee of housing and communal services Iskander Giniyatullin, head of the administration of the Sovietsky district Rustem Gafarov.

After New Year holidays Kazan residents finally felt what a real snowy winter is look like. According to the Hydro Meteorological Center of Tatarstan, 27 mm of snow has dropped from 1 to 12 January in the city, which is almost 80% of the norm (33 mm). "Road services operate in strengthened mode, but not in an emergency. Only for this day machines went out in the streets of the city three times. 280 units worked at roads at the daytime. We ordered several extra trucks. Tonight we are planning to take another 9-10 thousand tons of snow,"- Igor Kulyazhev reported on the progress of work. About 570 units of special equipment are involved in cleaning. In case of a sudden deterioration in weather conditions 1,000 units can be attracted.

Ilsur Metshin asked whether there are any problems of cleaning and removal of snow in the districts of the city and settlements. As Igor Kulyazhev told, according to the rules, roads of the third category are cleaned the last. For today they all are cleaned. At these facilities small subcontractors operate, who engaged in clearing of driveways and settlement roads with the help of small compact tractors.

Ilsur Metshin acquainted with the work of sweeping of the snow and treatment of road with icing materials, loading and removal of snow at A.Kamaleev Avenue. Loaded snow is immediately sent to the snow melting points. Kazan has 6 snow melting points (at st.Portovaya, st.Nesmelov, st.Vorovsky, st.Vasilchenko, st.Tulskaya and ave. Pobeda). The overall productivity of these points is 7200 tons per day. Additionally in Kazan 15 temporary snow storage sites with a total area of ​​40 hectares are equipped.

According to Igor Kulyazhev, there is the most productive snow melting camera in the city at Pobeda avenue. Ilsur Metshin noted that the system of collection, snow removal and disposal, created in Kazan, as well-designed logistics is justified in the snowfalls. "There is no collapse, we have difficulty of movement. We hear the wishes of our car owners. Many people ask where technique is. The technique works at night, so as not to interfere with traffic,"- said the Mayor.

Ilsur Metshin stressed that the task of removal of snow is not new for the city, but every year it is necessary to meet the winter fully armed. "There was a lot of work to prepare for the winter. In previous years, thanks to the President of Tatarstan, we invested in renewal of winter harvesting machinery and snow melting cameras, increased salaries to workers. Facilities of technique allow us to cope with snow in time. Nevertheless, there must be full readiness, including for the operational plan "Buran". In general, an effective system of collection, snow removal and disposal currently operates in Kazan", - said the Mayor. The Mayor instructed to strictly observe the deadlines for clearing snow from the main streets and avenues with a large flow of public and private transport.
