(KZN.RU, September 14, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Employees of the police department №6 “Savinovo” started work in the renovated building on F. Amirkhan Prospect, №71a. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and Artem Khokhorin, lieutenant-generalm the Minister of Internal Affairs of the RT, congratulated the newcomers of the capital's law-enforcers.
The two-storey building with an area of 2071 square meters was built in 1974. Until 1997, there was a kindergarten. Major repairs began on May 22, 2017, and ended last summer. 42.8 million rubles was spent on the repair work, excluding the re-equipment of the offices with new furniture and blinds. The reception of residents is already underway, now there are 104 people working here. In total, the Savinovo Police Department serves 78300 Kazan citizens.
“The protection of public order is one of the most important areas of work in the city for us. Systematically, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the RT and personally with Minister Artem Khokhorin, we are carrying out a planned work to improve the material and technical supply, the state of our police departments. I want to assure you that the city leadership will continue to do everything possible to improve the conditions of service of the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, said the Mayor, speaking at the opening of the renovated police building.

Metshin thanked everyone who took part in the repair work, as well as the policemen themselves, for their help in organizing and successfully holding the World Cup in football last summer. “Our guests, participants, Kazan citizens are delighted with this event. It was held at the highest level. We received the highest marks from the FIFA president Gianni Infantino, the leaders of our country and the republic. It is a great merit of the personnel of the internal affairs bodies in this. We are very proud of this, thank you for this service! I want to wish you all happiness in your family and health so that you will always return home to your families. And once again, we want to assure you, we will do everything to ensure that the conditions of service are worthy of the capital of the RT”, he promised.
Artem Khokhorin noted that the police department “Savinovo” is one of the best in the city. Since the beginning of the year, 813 crimes have been registered in the territory serviced by the police department, a decrease in serious and particularly serious crimes has been registered. The number of registered crimes against property has decreased, as well as the level of street crime.
“I think you will be very happy to work in a renovated room”, he said. “About 20 years, the police occupy this room. There were no major repairs here from the time of construction. Colleagues, on your behalf, from all of us I want to thank the City Hall and personally Ilsur Metshin for support. No subjects of the federation, except Moscow, have such a large and consistent work to support law enforcement agencies”. He added that over the past few years, this is already the eighth police department that was thoroughly renovated or received a new building.
By tradition, law enforcement officers received gifts in honor of the holiday. Artem Khokhorin gave the keys to the new Lada Granta to Lieutenant Colonel Airat Karimov, the head of the police department “Savinovo”, and Ilsur Metshin gave a certificate for office equipment. In addition, the Letter of Gratitude of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RT and the Letter of Gratitude of the Mayor of Kazan were given to representatives of contracting organizations. The breastplate “For Excellent Service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RT” was given to Ruslan Gavrilov, the warrant officer of the police, the foreman of the rear support group of the police department “Savinovo”.
At the end of the ceremony, the honorary guests inspected the results of the overhaul. They went around the main premises of the police department.
Alexey Sokolov, police colonel, the head of the Interior Ministry of Russia for Kazan, Robert Garipov, the acting head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts’ administration, Alexander Kovalchuk, the chairman of the Novo-Savinovsky district court, Radik Khalilov, the acting prosecutor of Novo-Savinovsky district, also attended the event.
