March 4, Alina Berezhnaya). Today, a covered ice arena with artificial ice has
opened in the residential area Yudino, Kirovsky district of Kazan. It was laid
down last August. A new sports facility will operate year-round with a break
for 30 days to replace ice and maintenance. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President
of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Sergey Kobzev, the deputy CEO and
chief engineer of Russian Railways, took part in the opening ceremony of the
ice arena.
Rustam
Minnikhanov congratulated the residents on the opening and noted that the new
sports facility appeared at the request of local residents and was erected in a
short time. The decision to build the object was made at a meeting of Rustam
Minnikhanov with residents of Yudino and employees of the Kazan Territorial Department
offices of the Gorky Railway, a branch of OAO “Russian Railways”.
“As we
promised, a lot of work will be done in Yudino to ensure that living conditions
and sports are at a decent level. Today there are 44 ice palaces in the
republic. I wish our young hockey players success, play hockey, this is the
best sport”, said R. Minnikhanov. He added that it is planned to complete the
reconstruction of the architectural monument in Yudino the HoC
“Zheleznodorozhnikov”, repair the House of Creativity and the public spaces.
Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, reminded that the laying of the puck into the ice
arena foundation was laid on the day of the celebration of the 100th
anniversary of Yudino. The Mayor thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his attentive
attitude to the development of sports. This object became the 14th artificial
ice platform in Kazan. “Hockey is growing, athletes are winning both in
Tatarstan and beyond its borders. Most recently, we laid a capsule here and
today we give children the opportunity to play the first puck”, said Ilsur
Metshin.
A new
sports facility will operate year-round with a stop in work for 30 days to
replace ice and maintenance. The ice arena will become a training ground for
the sports school “Strela”. It will also have sections for ice hockey and
figure skating for children. In addition, it is planned to organize mass
skating in the sports facility for residents of Yudino.
Locals
could not hide the joy of opening of the new ice arena. This sports facility
will become a place of recreation and family entertainment for many of them.
“We are so happy, now we don’t have to go to the city to find a skating rink.
It is nice to see how the settlement is developing, new objects are emerging
and great opportunities are opening up”, Maria Karpova, a resident of the
Yudino, shared her impressions.
