More than 18,000 people from 65 countries participated in the Kazan
Digital Week 2022 International Forum, which was held from 21 to 24 September
at the Kazan Expo Center. They joined the event in online and offline modes. In
total, 120 events were organized devoted to digitalization in all areas – from
cybersecurity to agriculture and culture, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said at the
Business Monday meeting.
Digital technologies are being used in all the activities of the
municipality. Digitalization increases the efficiency of work, which frees up the
time, the head of the city stressed. “Therefore, we will continue to improve
our work. The working procedures are speeding up, as well as the decision–making,
and importantly, all these resources allow us to improve not only the quality
of data control, but also the transparency of all our work, - I. Metshin said. -
Already implemented projects require constant improvement and updating. This
year, the implementation opportunities have shrunk due to sanctions, but the
development of the industry in the republic, which President Rustam Minnikhanov
and our colleagues from the federal center pay attention to, gives confidence
that we will implement all the goals.”
The Mayor reminded that the forum program included a specialized block
for the exchange of practices between municipalities.
Dmitry Kremlyov, Head of the IT&C Department, said that the program
on digital transformation of state and municipal administration was of great
interest to the participants. The experts discussed the way to establish more
effective communication with the residents and form a comfortable information
infrastructure for users at the VKontakte State section.
The replication of experience and the use of new digital products are among
the main goals of Kazan Digital Week. This year, the forum participants
discussed the exchange trading of identified valid products, identified trends
in venture investments and the development of the GameDev- industry. The Phygital
Games were held at the forum as part of the preparatory events to the Games of
Future 2024 in Kazan.
Russia's first large-scale project for the development of talents in the
gaming industry “Start the Game” was presented at the section “Import replacement
in education. Measures of state support for IT departments of the university”. It
will allow to provide conditions for professional and creative self-realization
of young people who are engaged in the development of gaming products.
Experts also shared their experience at the “Cybersecurity of the new
time” section. “Now we have started implementing projects using artificial
intelligence in video surveillance cameras and intercoms installed in apartment
buildings, - said the head of the IT&C Department. – I would like to note
that thanks to the large-scale installation of video cameras and security
systems in Kazan in social facilities, public places and yards of the city, the
security level is at a high level.”
For the first time, an exhibition of implemented digital projects took
place at the Kazan Digital Week.
