During a visit to Baikonur, where the trophy of the Games of the Future
was launched to the ISS orbital complex, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin invited Hero
of the Russian Federation, cosmonaut Sergey Krikalyov to international phygital
competitions. The Games will start in February in Kazan. “The trophy of the
competition will return to the beginning of the Games. Our task, we are working
towards this goal, is to organize the Games of the Future as flawlessly as the
launch of the rocket,”- the Mayor said at a staff meeting and shared his
impressions of visiting Baikonur.
He told how last week, as part of a delegation headed by Russian Deputy
Prime Minister, chairman of the organizing committee of the Games of the Future
Dmitry Chernyshenko, visited the Baikonur cosmodrome when the competition
trophy was launched into space. “We felt the scale of the event, which will be
hosted by Kazan, Tatarstan, and Russia for the first time,”- Ilsur Metshin
said.
The Mayor noted that the launch of the rocket is an indescribable event,
and everything at Baikonur is saturated with history. “The 300-ton vehicle took
off at exactly 14:21.11. As part of the commission, we had a chance to visit
the launch site, close up, feel the power and well–coordinated work of
thousands of people, the top of engineering thought,”- the head of the city
shared.
Kazan was entrusted with the organization of the Games of the Future not
only as a sports capital, but also as a city actively developing the digital
economy: “This is not only about Innopolis, an IT park, but also about our
advanced developments in the state and municipal services, which increases the
convenience of services for citizens, and together with landscaping and
development public spaces, security, strengthens Kazan as one of the most
comfortable cities.”
