(KZN.RU, November 2, by Olga Gertseva) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, along with the students of sponsored cadet school No.169, visited "The Genius of Da Vinci" exhibition, which is being shown in the Gallery of Modern Art of Tatarstan's Fine Arts Museum.
The exhibition demonstrates models of Da Vinci's inventions and projects, as well as reproductions of famous works of the Renaissance genius created five centuries later with the use of high technology.
"This amazing man invented five centuries ago what could be realized only in our time: aircraft and tank. He was a painter, sculptor, inventor, engineer, musician and architect. He set a goal and achieved it. That's how you should set yourself a goal and go for it,” Ilsur Metshin urged the students.
It may be recalled that Kazan was third after Moscow and St. Petersburg to win the right to host the international exhibition, which has already been held on five continents. To date, it is the most complete and comprehensive traveling exhibition of projects and ideas of the great Renaissance master. The exhibits, paintings and installations are located on all three floors of the gallery, occupying an area of over 1,000 square meters.
The exhibition was opened September 15, 2012. During its first weekend, it was attended by over 2,000 people; three weeks later, the exhibition had its 10,000th visitor, and at the moment, this figure has exceeded 22,000.
