Rustam Minnikhanov meets with FINA delegation
(KZN.RU, September 27) President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with representatives of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), who are in Kazan on an inspection visit in preparation for the 2015 World Aquatics Championships. The meeting was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Mr. Minnikhanov thanked the members of the delegation for their support in preparation for the Universiade. The head of the Republic said that the upcoming event, which will be held in the capital of Tatarstan in 2015, is an opportunity to publicize Kazan throughout the world.
President of the International Swimming Federation Julio Maglione said that Kazan is the perfect place to host the water sports championships since it has all necessary facilities. "We are confident that the world championships in water sports will be the best competition that has ever been held in Kazan," said J.Maglione.
The Tatarstan President assured the guests that preparations for the championships and the test events would be held at the highest possible level.
Recall that the competitions will be in swimming, open water swimming, diving and high-diving, synchronized swimming and water polo.
