(KZN.RU, September 25, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) Massive tree planting within the framework of the "Green Record" project kicks off in Kazan in early October. This was announced today by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin during "The Topic" program on the "Efir" TV channel.
The head of city administration said that some 10,000 adult trees were planted last spring in advance of the Kazan Universiade. Tree planting continued in September when conifers were planted. Planting of other tree species will start in October.
It is worth adding that the "Green Record" project was launched in the capital of Tatarstan last fall, and the number of trees planted during the season was unprecedented. The survival rate of the trees and shrubs was 95%.
