(KZN.RU, November 11, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) The ISEM awards Kazan received last week obligate the capital of Tatarstan not only to maintain the high standards of sporting achievements but also to strive for new heights. This opinion was expressed by Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin at today's Business Monday meeting.
Recall that the 7th International Sports Event Management Awards ceremony, in which the most prestigious international awards for achievements in the field of sports management were given out, was held in London late in the evening on November 6. In recognition of last July's Universiade, Kazan won a special prize “Highly Commended Sport City” as one of the best places in the world to host international sporting events. The Kazan Universiade was also a winner in "The Most Innovative Event" and "Event Look" categories.
At an operational meeting, the Mayor congratulated his colleagues on receiving such prestigious awards. "This is the result of our joint work and the work of our colleagues in the Government, carried out under the leadership of President Rustam Minnikhanov," said I. Metshin.
"The 2013 Universiade continues to bring in medals. Along with such cities as London, Dubai and Auckland, we are recognized as a world sports capital and recommended as a venue for future international competitions of any kind," said the Mayor.
