(KZN.RU, December 19, by Alisa Rozanova) Another 27th World Summer Universiade of 2013 Award Ceremony was held at Kazan City Hall. Mayor Ilsur Metshin handed out "Distinguished Service to Kazan" badges, Kazan Honorary Diplomas, the Mayor's thank-you letters and Executive Committee certificates of appreciation.
Among the 120 awardees are employees of the Kazan Executive Committee and its subordinated institutions, the Universiade Directorate, motor transport enterprises, as well as hoteliers, directors of youth sports schools and creative collectives of the republic and the city.
"We should thank the construction workers for the excellent sports facilities, but what our Kazan residents, our volunteers and all of you were able to create – the spirit of hospitality – was like the best orchestra," said Ilsur Metshin. "We set the goal of making all of Kazan "sing and dance" and, thanks to you, we succeeded," addressed the Mayor those present.
