(KZN.RU, February 12, by Taisiya Basharkina). At a meeting on urban construction, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin set the task of opening 28 new preschools by September 1.
According to first deputy head of the Board on Urban Policy Azat Nigmatzyanov, 4,380 new places will become available in preschools this year alone in the framework of the development of regional early childhood education in Kazan. In addition to the construction of the new schools, renovation of one preschool and organization of additional classes in the 15 existing ones is planned.
A total investment of about 2.3 billion rubles has been allocated for the purpose, 30% of which come from the federal budget and 70% - from Tatarstan's.
"To build 28 preschools in one year is certainly not an easy task. We have never built so many in such a short time, and it is our goal to carry everything out with the requisite quality and comfort," stressed the Mayor.
Besides the construction of the new preschools, a large amount of work has to be done to renovate the 15 existing buildings and open additional classes there.
The Mayor stressed that the ongoing demographic boom in the city necessitates a rapid development of a network of children's institutions. Every new-born child awaits a school. "September1is our deadline and we can only move it up. Children are born within nine months, but preschools can and should be “born” sooner. We will meet at the sites as well as at the construction headquarters and monitor the progress," tasked the builders Ilsur Metshin.
