(KZN.RU, February 10) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin will take part in a charity concert by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan. The head of the city, together with actress Nafisa Khairullina of the Kamal Theater, will present the symphonic fairy tale "The Nutcracker". All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Angela Vavilova Foundation to build the first children's hospice in Tatarstan.
The charity concert will be held on the International Childhood Cancer Day – February 15. This will be the fourth charity concert of the RT State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky when all proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the construction of the children's hospice in Kazan.
"The proposal to participate in the concert was a surprise to me. I liked the idea of giving a concert to benefit the construction of the children's hospice. Targeted aid helps to achieve tangible results in charity work. Building the children's hospice in Kazan is a civil initiative, and I take part in it in my spare time as a Kazan resident wishing to help those in need. I would be glad if my participation could be useful to people," said the Mayor.
Ilsur Metshin, together with actress Nafisa Khairullina of the Kamal Theater, will present the "The Nutcracker" based on the fairy tale by Hoffmann and libretto by Marius Petipa. The music will be from Tchaikovsky's famous ballet of the same name.
