Ilsur Metshin presents K.Vasilev award to art school teachers
(Kazan, KZN.RU, September 4, by Zilya Gayfi) An All-Russia conference "Konstantin Vasilyev's Artistic Heritage in the Context of Contemporary Culture" opened on the artist's birthday in the museum bearing his name. The first Konstantin Vasiliev Awards were presented by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin to the best teachers of the city art schools.
The idea to establish a K.Vasilev Award was suggested a year ago, on the opening day of the artist's museum. The mayor of Kazan supported the initiative of the museum director Gennady Pronin and suggested awarding the best art teachers annually on September 3, the artist's birthday.
Ilsur Metshin noted that the establishment of this award will help appreciate the teachers' long-term selfless work. The head of the city assured that perpetuating the names of Kazan's prominent citizens will continue in the future.
