Ilsur Metshin presents 70th anniversary of Victory commemorative medal to Usman Baibekov
(Kazan, KZN.RU, April 9, by Albert Murtazin). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited Great Patriotic War veteran Usman Safeyevich Baibekov. The mayor greeted him on his past birthday, awarded the war veteran with a commemorative medal "70 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and invited him to attend the Victory Parade.
The Great Patriotic War veteran, who turned 89 on March 28, told the head of the city administration about his wartime experiences and baptism of fire, the way he received the news of the victory and his work on the Gorki Railroad after the war.
Ilsur Metshin congratulated the veteran on the upcoming great date – Victory Day. He thanked in the person of U.Baibekov the whole generation of veterans for their feat, for the peaceful sky above and for their feats of labor after the war.
At parting, Ilsur Metshin wished Usman Safeyevich good health and the best of everything. The mayor also invited the veteran to the May 9 Victory Parade and presented him with gifts.
