I. Metshin: "The desire to bring the Law Faculty of KFU to the forefront unites all us"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, November 13, Zoya Gerasimova). Results of the work of faculty of law of Kazan Federal University in the first and second half of 2015, as well as plans for the future were discussed today during the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the faculty. The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

The success of the faculty of law was briefly reported by its dean Liliya Bakulina. According to her, the new academic year began for students with a large-scale celebration for freshmen, the opening of the "third law audience" and excursions to the island of Sviyazhsk. Liliya Bakulina expressed hope that the visit of the sights of this ancient city will become a tradition of KFU.

To date the documents for the licensing of procedure of the basic professional educational program "Legal protection of national security" are prepared. For the early completion of the procedures support the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is required. Ilsur Metshin instructed members of the Board of Trustees to prepare a letter to be sent to the Government of the Russian Federation.

A conference "Derzhavin Readings", which will be held in Kazan in conjunction with the All-Russian State University of Justice on November 25-26, will be the significant event in the grid of the Faculty of Law. In December "Legal Dictation" with the participation of the Minister of Justice Larisa Glukhova and celebration of the Faculty of Law will be held.

Also in the near future a series of public workshops with the participation of successful graduates of the Faculty of Law is planned to be organized. Mayor of Kazan said that these activities should be carried out on a regular basis. "Such meetings are necessary to build links between students and alumni. Graduates will come to the home faculty with pleasure, give workshops and share their successful experiences. They will be able to inspire our students, "- opined the Mayor.

The agenda of today's meeting was the establishing of a laboratory for energy law and the implementation of training programs for lawyers in the energy sector. According Ilsur Metshin, modern labor market is dictating the need for narrow-profile lawyers.

At the end of the meeting Ilsur Metshin noted that the main task of the Board of Trustees facing is to bring new trends in student life. "The desire to bring the Law Faculty of KFU to the forefront unites all us. We can’t do it with repairs and purchase of modern equipment. Active life must be at the faculty. It is important not only to maintain its leading position in quality education, but also to be ahead of all the cultural and sports program, "- said the Mayor.
