Abandoning their cars, City Duma deputies and heads of Executive Committee departments used public transportation or came to work on foot. Mayor Ilsur Metshin set the example. This morning, he combined a business meeting with a stroll along the main street of the city.
According to the mayor, abandoning cars in favor of the streetcar, trolley bus, subway, bicycle or walking should be practiced not only on this day. "Our goal is to make sure that people prefer public transportation. But this is going to take time," said he.
