The perinatal center at Hospital - 7 will open in Kazan in February 2024.
The medical facility will serve up to 8 thousand births per year and will
become one of the largest obstetric centers in the Volga region, owning fetal
surgery technologies. Thanks to modern equipment, it will be able to provide
high-tech assistance to pregnant women, including those with a high risk of
complications, as well as to carry out intrauterine fetal surgery.
To date, all construction work has been completed, and specialists are
engaged in the installation of heavy medical equipment. The readiness of the
facility for opening was inspected by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
“We have come a long way in the last 15 years. Earlier we were satisfied
with renovation and the creation of decent conditions for pregnant women, while
now we are discussing world-class technologies that have come to Kazan. We
thank the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov for creating such
conditions. The numbers are impressive – 50% of all deliveries in the republic
are taken in Kazan. High technologies inspire confidence that an increasing
number of married couples will decide on a second, third and fourth child,”-
Ilsur Metshin said.
The capacities of the new perinatal center will be enough to serve the
residents of Kazan and the whole republic. “We are located between
Yekaterinburg and Moscow, where they own fetal surgery technologies. We can serve
the neighboring regions – Samara region, Chuvashia, Udmurtia. We will probably
become the only ones in the Volga Federal District, there are very few such
hospitals in Russia,”- said Tatyana Shigabutdinova, chief
obstetrician-gynecologist of the Tatarstan Ministry of Health.
The work in the perinatal center will be built on a closed cycle, that
is, it will be possible to receive all the necessary medical care throughout
the entire period of pregnancy. One block with surgery rooms will be designed
for women with a high level of risk. The second block is for low–risk pregnant
women. The women's consultation will be located in the third block.
The construction of the perinatal center started in March 2022. The
customer is GISU RT, the designer is Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt, the contractor is
LLC Eurostroyholding+. The seven-storey building with an area of more than 20
thousand square meters will house the reception and consulting and diagnostic
departments, the center for antenatal fetal protection, an obstetric hospital
for round-the-clock stay and a neonatology hospital, laboratories and
diagnostic units.
The obstetric hospital of round-the-clock stay is designed for 80 people
and includes four surgery rooms, one of them will be able to perform X-ray
surgical interventions and operations on the fetus. There are also six
individual maternity rooms. The neonatology hospital with 40 beds has a
physiotherapy unit. Another 22 beds will be installed in the department of
anesthesiology and intensive care, and in the department of intensive care and 25
beds for neonatal intensive care.
