Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Marat Khusnullin, and the manager of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodzelenkhoz, Roza Zabbarova, will be awarded the prestigious title. Mayor Ilsur Metshin proposed this during the 31st session of the Kazan City Duma in the City Hall.
The head of the city noted that these candidates are working productively for the benefit of Russia, the republic and Kazan, they have obtained well-deserved authority and respect among residents.
According to Ilsur Metshin, Marat Khusnullin's career began in 1983 as a laboratory assistant for maintenance of experimental installations at the Kazan Institute of Finance and Economics. After that, he worked as chairman of the Temp construction cooperative, headed the Interplastservice company, the Ak Bars construction commercial and industrial company and was Deputy General Director of Tatenergo JSC.
In 2001, Marat Khusnullin was appointed Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utilities of Tatarstan. “To celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, the city implemented a program to eliminate dilapidated housing, built new residential districts, cultural and sports facilities, built iconic sites for every resident – the Qul Sharif Mosque, Millennium Square, Millennium Bridge, the first five stations of the Kazan metro and other facilities,”- Ilsur Metshin noted.
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government also actively participated in the preparations for 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan.
With the productive assistance of Marat Khusnullin, a number of large-scale and significant infrastructure projects have been implemented, including the construction of the Moscow-Beijing highway segment - the M12 Vostok to Kazan. This highway attracts more tourists to the city and have a positive impact on the economy, as the head of the city stated. He emphasized that Marat Khusnullin is making an outstanding personal contribution to the socio-economic growth and prosperity of the capital of Tatarstan.
The second candidate for the honorary title is Roza Zabbarova, who has worked at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Gorvodzelenkhoz” for 40 years. In 1999, she took over the leadership of the company. Over the past 15 years, Gorvodzelenkhoz planted more than 650,000 trees, about 400,000 shrubs, and 65 million flowers in Kazan.
Roza Zabbarova has managed to build a professional team of more than 500 employees. “The staff of the Gorvodzelenkhoz is systematically working to improve parks and squares, river embankments and lakes, which allows not only to create unique recreation areas for citizens, but also to significantly improve the environmental situation in the city,”- the Mayor said.
The company services more than 160 public spaces with a total area of 550 hectares. In addition to her work at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise, Roza Zabbarova engages in public work as a deputy of the Tatarstan State Council and a member of the public organization “Women of Tatarstan” and the association of women deputies “Marhamat-Miloserdie”. The awarding of honorary citizenship of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan traditionally takes place on the Day of the City and the Republic on 30 August.
