In the new school in the Vesna residential area, a food hall has been
organized, the project of which is being replicated throughout the republic.
Its uniqueness is in the zoning of the space, which will reduce the serving time.
School № 95 with a focus on natural sciences will be called “Ikan”
(which means “it turns out”), and it will be equipped with the latest
technologies so that children can not only receive knowledge and skills but
also decide on their future profession. The Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin,
visited the school and inspected its readiness for opening.
The school on Umyrzaya Street started construction in February and is
now almost complete after six months. The three-story building is designed for
1,501 students, while the standard school design provides for 1,224 students.
The total floor area of the school will be approximately 28,000 square meters.
The facility will have two swimming pools, gyms, and a concert hall that
can accommodate 670 people. There will also be a school restaurant with 750
seats, which will allow students to eat during two breaks.
“This school type that we have demonstrated will be replicated across
the republic, the changes have been incorporated into the standard school
projects. All large schools will have such canteens,”- said Azat Nigmatzyanov,
Deputy Head of the Kazan Executive Committee. Similar food units will be equipped
in schools that open in Kazan on 1 September. The dining area is almost
complete, and it only needs to be equipped with pots and tables. “Since the
school is named Ikan, we wanted to design the canteen with an educational focus
- products containing vitamins and educational captions are featured on the
walls,”- said Rima Mukhamedshina.
School № 95 will have a focus on natural sciences and will be equipped accordingly.
There are 87 classrooms in the school, each with an interactive whiteboard.
Engineering classes will also have 3D printers, equipment for building unmanned
aerial vehicles, and tools for learning web programming. The school plans to
install digital laboratory sets for specialized and elementary school
classrooms, as well as equipment for robotics. During life safety lessons,
students will use an electronic shooting range to practice, and during
technology lessons, they will work with laser machines.
“The equipment of the school in the Vesna residential area is
outstanding. This school is like a mini-copy of the Kazan economy. Here,
children have everything they need to gain knowledge and skills and decide on
their future profession. There are mini-laboratories for chemistry, physics,
and the assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles, which will allow the school to
collaborate with the Kazan Aviation Institute. It's a real educational palace,”-
said Ilsur Metshin.
One of the largest 7x4 m LED screens in Kazan schools will be installed
in the concert hall. “Not all recreational center in Russia have such
equipment,”- noted the Mayor.
During breaks, students will have the opportunity to play air hockey,
chess, tennis, and table football. There will also be a hockey rink, a
basketball court, a football and volleyball field, running tracks, and
playgrounds. The school yard will be landscaped with shrubs and trees.
