The
Volunteer Center on Maksimova Street in the Aviastroitelny district of Kazan
has expanded its space by 3.3 times. The support of the Mayor of Kazan allowed
increasing the area from 80 to 230 square meters. The volume of humanitarian
aid for the special military operation was increased respectively.

The
premises were equipped with air conditioners and other equipment to make it
convenient for volunteers. The volunteer center on Maksimova Street was opened
on the initiative of Alsu Fazullina, an associate professor at the KNRTU. Previously,
volunteers worked in a room with an area of 80 sq. m. Volunteer work began with
weaving camouflage nets and sewing clothes for military fighters. Later, an additional
site was provided on Tetsovskaya Street. However, the available space was
insufficient, and to increase the volume of humanitarian aid sent to the front,
it was necessary to expand the facility.
In 2025, Ilsur
Metshin visited the facility and instructed to provide volunteers with an empty
municipal premises with an area of 250 sq. m, located nearby. The area of the
facility increased to 330 sq. m.
The
renovation work lasted seven months. The space was redesigned: the old
structures were dismantled, the windows and doors were replaced. Inside the
premises, four functional zones have now been set up: for weaving nets, cutting
and sewing, as well as a recreation zone.
To ensure
the comfort of the volunteers, the building was equipped with underfloor
heating and an air conditioning system. New sewing machines, an overlock
machine, a washing machine, a floor‑cleaning machine, dryers, and refrigeration
equipment were purchased. The expansion of the area made it possible to
significantly increase production capacity. After the renovation, the
productivity of the camouflage nets increased by 30%. “You have created a real
center to help the front. Alsu Fazullina managed to turn an idea into one of
the most effective support centers,” said Ilsur Metshin.
