(KZN.RU, April 23, Ekaterina Andreyeva) A project of a “Novotel” hotel was presented to Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at Town Hall today.
An administrative and business center, which will include a 4-star hotel with 120 rooms, will be built at Chernyshevsky and Dzerzhinsky streets. Accor Group General Director for Russia and CIS (Russian Management Hotel Company) Alexis Delaroff told the mayor that the Kazan «Novotel» project will be the sixth in Russia. "Today, there are five of our hotels in your country: three in Moscow and one in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg," he said.
The Accor Group is one of the world's largest hotel chains. The company owns and manages about
four thousand hotels around the world with a total capacity of about 500,000 rooms.
"We have become aware of hotel shortage before the Universiade. The number of people who want to come to Kazan exceeds the number of available hotel rooms. I am sure that even after the Universiade, the city will host numerous sports, economic, cultural and other events. So hotels will be in high demand," said I. Metshin.
