(KZN.RU, October 7, by Alisa Rozanova) The founder of the world-famous game franchise Angry Birds, Peter Vesterbacka, arrived in Kazan at the invitation of Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. At the meeting, which was held at Kazan City Hall , the Mayor discussed with the Vice President and co-owner of Rovio Entertainment a possibility of creating an amusement park in Kazan.
Congratulating Peter Vesterbacka on his popular product, Ilsur Metshin said he was impressed by the progress of the Finnish company.
Recall that the video game Angry Birds released by Rovio Entertainment in 2009, conquered the world market within a few months and is currently the most downloaded application for mobile platforms (about 2 billion downloads). One of the company's new products, along with the animated series based on the game and a network of stores in China, are the themed Angry Birds Activity Parks. The first park of more than 8 thousand square meters was opened in Finland in 2012. Later, the parks appeared in the UK and China, and there are over two dozen of them at the moment. In Russia, only a small Angry Birds playground opened in Vnukovo in the spring of 2013, but no large-scale park has appeared yet.
"We're aware of Rovio Entertainment's expansion, and if you have plans for Russia, we would like to discuss them," said the Mayor and invited the delegation to study opportunities offered by Kazan.
