Kazan Mayor Scholarships award ceremony held in Kazan City Hall
(KZN.RU, December 27, by Alisa Rozanova) Kazan Mayor Scholarships were awarded in Kazan City Hall to undergraduate and graduate students of music and art schools, universities and community colleges.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin welcomed the awardees and emphasized that gathering in anticipation of the New Year in City Hall to celebrate the achievements of the best of the city youth, has become a time-honored tradition. The Mayor recalled that, thanks to the important international sporting event, – the 2013 Universiade – the whole world got to know Kazan's youth.
"We are closely watching your achievements; you are the city heritage and a cause for great pride. You are our tomorrow; thanks to you, Kazan will become the best city on earth," said the Mayor at the ceremony.
A total of 67 people were awarded, among them 30 students of music and art schools, 21 university and college undergraduates and graduates and 16 young researchers.
