(KZN.RU, January 13, by Renat Shirmanov) Kazan hotel occupancy reached 80% during the Holiday Season. This is an absolute record for the capital of Tatarstan. This was stated by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at a Business Monday meeting.
"We are reaping the benefits of investments in the Universiade, of the promotion, which the republic and the city received. A lot of people wanted to come and see Kazan. But this is not the time to relax, because with regard to tourism, we are only at the beginning. By the summer, we should prepare new events, which will attract more tourists to our city. In general, we are moving in the right direction," said the Mayor of Kazan .
Ilsur Metshin instructed the Deputy Head of the Executive Committee on Economic Development Ivan Kuznetsov to gather representatives of the tourist business and discuss the results of the Holiday Season and to decide on an appropriate range of activities in the run-up to the next tourist season.
