(Kazan, KZN.RU, October 30, by Zilya Gayfi) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin discussed the possibility of holding a large-scale book fair with the management of the Center of Contemporary Culture "Smena." The mayor visited a modern art exhibition at the center, where he became acquainted with the works of contemporary artists Vasily Grigoriev and Hamlet Zinkovskyi.
The Center of Contemporary Culture "Smena", located in the city center, will celebrate its first birthday in December. The center contains an art gallery, lecture hall and a bookstore, which features alternative literature. "Smena" offers visitors a multitude of activities: master classes, lectures, film screenings, musical evenings and meetings with creative people.
While visiting the center, Ilsur Metshin remarked that this kind of showroom had been missing for a long time. "You're doing a great job. There is no doubt that your exhibition attracts a lot of people. In general, to be called a civilized city, Kazan needs a museum of modern art," said the head of the city.
During the meeting, the head of the Center, Robert Khasanov, suggested holding a large-scale book fair. The mayor of Kazan wholeheartedly supported the idea, noting that such events enrich cultural life in the capital of Tatarstan.
